  A Monet Sets a Record: $80.4 Million!
A rare waterlilies piece by Claude Monet sold for $80.4 Million at a Christies auction in London this past Tuesday.  This is the highest amount paid for a Monet to date and belonged to a collection of works owned by J. Irwin and Xenia S. Miller (recently deceased). The entire collection sold for a reported $284 Million.
